Outdoor access point enclosure kit

Part no. PCKX600S

For Cisco 1600, 1700, 1800, 2600, 2700, 2800, 3500, 3600, 3700 and 3800 Series APs

Two white DW WiFi outdoor enclosure kits fixed to a red brick wall and joined by galvanised conduit, with grey antenna leads running out to four external patch antennas on small brackets around them.
Two enclosure kits on a brick wall, external antennas fitted.

Designed specifically for the range of Cisco Aironet Wi-Fi access points. Its unique modular design supports up to 6 external RP-TNC bulkhead antenna ports, so it works with the complete range of Cisco Wi-Fi antennas.

  • Harsh environments

Lets Cisco access points go into a variety of harsh environments, protecting your investment by stopping water and dust from damaging the access point.

  • Outdoors, in all weathers

A pressure compensation device comes fitted as standard. It helps combat condensation forming inside as the outdoor temperature varies, so you can deploy access points outdoors in all weathers.

  • Antennas on the outside

The access point's antenna ports are replicated on the outside of the enclosure, enabling rapid deployment of your chosen Cisco antennas outside it and maximising their range and performance.

How the kit goes together

  1. Lid and gasket

The lid seals against a gasket on the enclosure box and is fixed with 6 polycarbonate lid screws.

  2. Back plate

The kit ships with a back plate. Mount the access point on it with the access point's own bracket, then secure the plate inside the enclosure with 6 screws.

  3. Up to 6 antenna ports

The generic design has 6 removable blanking plugs. Remove as many as your access point needs and fit the ports as custom made antenna pigtail cables, each an external RP-TNC bulkhead port.

  4. Ethernet cable gland

Pre-fitted. The Ethernet data cable runs through it to the access point inside, and the enclosure keeps its IP rating.

  5. Pressure compensation device

Swings in ambient temperature create pressure that can draw condensation into an enclosure. The PCD, fitted as standard, helps equalise that pressure.

  6. Polycarbonate body

Rated IP54, or IP66 when the antenna connections are sealed with self amalgamating tape.

Wall brackets that keep a ceiling orientation

Access points with integrated omni-directional antennas give their best Wi-Fi coverage mounted on a ceiling. When one has to go on a wall, these brackets hold it level, in its ceiling orientation, to optimise coverage and improve the access point's performance.

Illustration: side view of a room, an access point on a DW wall bracket held level so its coverage spreads out into the room. Ceiling Floor Wall
On the bracket the access point stays level, as if on a ceiling, and its coverage spreads out across the room. Illustration, simplified.

Cisco access point wall bracket

Part no. BAPLC

For Cisco access points. Maintains ceiling mount orientation to optimise Wi-Fi coverage.

Cisco access points with integrated omni-directional antennas provide optimum Wi-Fi coverage when mounted to a ceiling. Where one has to be wall mounted, the BAPLC holds it on the wall in a ceiling-mounted orientation, optimising coverage and improving the access point's performance.

Supported access points

This bracket is suitable for these Cisco access points:

  • Cisco Aironet 1830
  • Cisco Aironet 1850
  • Cisco Aironet 2800 (internal and external antenna versions)
  • Cisco Aironet 4800

Aerohive access point wall bracket

Part no. BAPLA

For Aerohive access points, now part of Extreme Networks. Maintains ceiling mount orientation to optimise Wi-Fi coverage.

Aerohive access points with integrated omni-directional antennas provide optimum Wi-Fi coverage when mounted to a ceiling. Where one has to be wall mounted, the BAPLA holds it on the wall in a ceiling-mounted orientation, optimising coverage and improving the access point's performance.

Supported access points

This bracket is suitable for these Aerohive access points:

  • AP122

Cisco outdoor pan & tilt antenna bracket

Part no. B2566NPA

For Cisco antenna part no AIR-ANT2566P4W-R=

The performance of your Cisco wireless LAN can be compromised by poor antenna installation. This bracket is designed specifically for the Cisco 4-element dual band patch panel directional antenna, and its unique two-hinge design lets you aim the antenna at its intended target.

  • Pan and tilt. The face of the antenna moves on both hinges, for adjustment in the horizontal and the vertical plane.
  • Anodised. The bracket components go through an anodising treatment for an aesthetically pleasing, weatherproof finish, indoors and outdoors.
  • Any flat surface. Designed for easy mounting, and ships with fixing stud bolts that attach the Cisco antenna to the bracket's front face.

Supported antenna

This bracket is suitable for this Cisco antenna:

  • AIR-ANT2566P4W-R= (4-element dual band patch)
